The first portion of the trail, until the village of Kupari, is called the Fisherman’s Path: it follows the course of the river and offers several resting points. From the hamlets of Kupari, there is a gravel road which passes through the Kupari Srednji and Kupari Gornji hamlets. Gornji Kupari is home to another visitor centre – the “Birth House of the River Kupa”. The trail first goes straight over the meadow, which is intersected by the Sušica canyon, and then it crosses over a pedestrian bridge onto the right bank of the Kupa river. The trail continues ascending and descending through the canyon until the very source of the river, a turquoise lake which is one of Croatia’s strongest and deepest sources, and its beauty is captivating. Follow the road by Kupa
