This long trail goes around Mrkopalj and it is the perfect choice for a relaxing walk through nature, sure to help you recharge your batteries and strengthening your body and soul. From the centre of Mrkopalj, walking through amazing scenery, you will reach Begovo Razdolje, which holds the title of a populated village on the highest elevation in Croatia. Your next stop is the beautiful “Matić poljana” meadow, a memorial site with 26 stones symbolising 26 soldiers who perished in a blizzard in February 1944. Then take the gravel road through the forest over Tuk back to Mrkopalj. The trail is long, but it isn’t very demanding and it’s easy to handle if you have the will and some free time.
