The trail begins by the parking lot and the information desk of the Risnjak National Park in the Vilje area, and it is the easiest way to access the gorgeous peak of Risnjak and the lodge. The first portion of the trail gently climbs the old forest road until Medvjeđa vrata, a distinct crossing point of hiking trails, before continuing through the Južni Mali Risnjak pass to the Schlosser meadow and lodge (Schlosserov dom) and the peak. The trail was once used for delivering materials for the construction of the lodge, while today it is used for deliveries and hiking.
